Karolina earned her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2014. Karolina has worked in a variety of settings and patient populations including: developmental delay, post surgical cardiac patients, traumatic brain injury, stroke, organ transplant, multiple organ system failure, cancer, limb amputation, poly-trauma, neurodegenerative conditions, but her passions are working in women's health and with infants.
Karolina has always been focused on living an active and healthy lifestyle. After the birth of her daughter she learned a great deal about pelvic floor therapy, a topic that was briefly discussed while in graduate school. As she progressed herself through her own rehabilitation, she realized this underserved population and specialty was something she would like to combine with her health and wellness background in order to help women struggling with pelvic health issues.
After starting Complete Balance PT, initially as a wellness model, she focused all of her post graduate coursework in pelvic health and the prevention of lifestyle diseases. Karolina was a personal trainer before becoming a physical therapist. She is knowledgeable in most forms of physical fitness, but is most proficient in barbell strength training and the TRX suspension Training System. She completed her TRX suspension Training Certification in 2009 and has been a faithful user of the training system. Many of her preventative and corrective movement programs involve using the TRX system, as it is safe for use by all fitness levels from the beginner to the advanced athlete.
Karolina has been researching and reading on the gut microbiome since 2019 and believes it is the key to correction of many chronic lifestyle conditions. She became certified in Gut Health Nutrition to expand her knowledge further in order to help those suffering from gut issues, as well as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and autoimmune conditions to name a few.
Karolina also spent six years in pediatrics, three of those working with premature infants and babies in the 0-2 year old age group reaching motor milestones. She has completed advanced training in MNRI techniques, as well as most recently pediatric pelvic floor rehabilitation.
Outside of the clinical setting Karolina enjoys time with her family, exercising, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, figure skating and snuggling with her rescue pups.
